spring forward.

paint paint paint.

today i had to catch up with what needed undercoating, top coating and waxing.

i painted the cabinet on the left in clunch 2009, farrow and ball. i just love the weird and wonderful names they come up with. the toy box is painted in natural hessian, dulux and we had a baby blue mixed for the interior.

on the way home i couldn't resist passing by the rubbish tip, and i picked up this lovely writing desk for £5. its a bit broken in places but nothing that cant be fixed. thought it would inspire me to have a freshen up in my room, possibly re painting the walls and moving some things around. not sure what colour i'm going to paint it yet, although think i will do the interior a complimenting shade.

mmm.

this week has been pretty hectic but I couldn't help but post an amazing website Lindsay sent to me... for all those culinary novices or not so novices out there. It is a collection of recipes sourced from all over the place.

Clifton.

the slightly more up-market reclamation store.

Bristol.

If I had known how many reclamation yards there were in Bristol I would have hired a van.

anything from tables, to lighting, to door handles could be found...

Bath.

Having been in Bristol for the past few days I couldn't resist not venturing into Bath. I always find it fascinating wondering around, quite an inspirational place in my opinion. I know I certainly would love my front door to look like that...

unusual lighting.

I just had a hunt on my computer for some photos when I came across this and I was surprised I hadn't blogged it previously. It is a photo of a display from the Covent Garden Kurt Geiger store over christmas, a chandelier of shoes... who would have thought!

3 hours and three coats of paint.

Surprisingly this cabinet did have some hope of looking respectable once again...

once dry and waxed it will fit far better within a space.

1 year on.

It was this time last year I was about to venture into a project based on Brighton whilst studying at Alton College. So it was good to go back and see what this years lot have been up to and how they interpret Brighton within their work. As they are just starting it was all about initial imagery and ideas, bearing in mind they have to start producing a chair, some form of lighting and a canvas by the end of next week.

Castle Street.

The sun was shining and I couldn't help but photograph these flowers at the bottom of Castle Street. They cheered me up and finally it seems as if summer is on its way... sort of! Having spent the past few weeks doing all sorts I am very much looking forward to this weekend. Jack is back from Spain for a week and I am very excited to just being able to spend some time with him... hopefully he might get some hints from this post... just kidding!

Spring is on its way...

 Vanilla Hill.

Autumn oranges and reds are slowly being replaced by violets and blues, as spring draws nearer. Having been working on window displays and re styling the shop to make way for all this seasons must haves, including linen cushions and stunning lamps, I thought it was about time I posted some photographs.

Tuesday 1 March 2011

11 chairs.

Thought I would post a photograph of how I imagined those glass containers too look, full of beautiful fresh flowers, a statement on any kitchen table i think.

For when the spring finally arrives...
