a simple cushion.

Having found some fabric in the bargain section of the fabric shop i decided to make them into two simple cushions. Its a really easy way of using up fabric, you can never have enough cushions plus it doesn't cost a fortune and takes no time at all.

time to bake some biscuits.

For once I thought I would follow a recipe from start to finish, being patience when you think you could speed things up and weighing everything correctly. These were the finished result and for a first attempt at icing, I was quite impressed with myself.

a trip to the tip.

The sun is shining, so i took myself off to the rubbish tip to see if i could find any potential pieces of furniture to spruce up. I hope to do this on a regular basis, searching high and low for those lost pieces of furniture that need some care and attention to bring them back to life. I will keep up to date posting my finds and their transformations.

I found this rather damp piece of french styled furniture today, although its going to need some time to dry out before i can even begin to transform it. The photograph doesn't really give a great sense of scale, although if i say it didn't fit in a small car then you get a better idea.

a few smiles later and i managed to get this great little wine box for free.

better late than never.

The festive season is over and the New Year is well and truly underway but i couldnt resist posting some photographs of my christmas antics, homemade gingerbread and indulgent wrapping.

Minimal Photo Manipulations.

I decided that i needed to think of a more abstract way of manipulating the minimal photographs.

I decided to print onto fabric.

the vegetable photographs are unrecognisable.
when folded the colours compliment each other well.

Part 2. Manipulations

After having taken just a small selection of photographs, we were then asked to manipulate them in as many ways as we could. I thought the rust pictures were quite beautiful, so i used methods of manipulating that would convey this. Compared to the plain minimal photographs of vegetables, which needed more manipulation in order to make them stand out.

Embellished Manipulations.

Photography Part 1

We were asked to take a few photographs that we would then be able to manipulate
into new structures or forms.

Embellished vs. Minimal

Presentation 'Objects of Desire'

Yarn Wraps

taking images from a magazine.
